Yes, plenty of snow arriving by the looks. The snowgates closed a little while ago and 2-3cm in Braemar where not cleared. Weather radar suggests more to come over the coming hours.... here's hoping.

Glenshee Official Report
Last Update 11.00hrs on Thursday 11th Dec 2014
It's on its way. A good bit of snow has fallen, but more required.
Continuing snow showers in the forecast could do the job.
Be Nice to Skiers, they have it hard enough already

Glenshee site now saying they might try to open tomorrow depending on snowgates and overnight conditions. Pister was working Sunnyside towline when I checked the webcam about 1630 but they are saying maybe Claybokie and Butcharts.....
Correction, website say's "at the weekend".... could be Sat or Sun by strict interpretation.... it's a wait&see job.

Facebook and Twitter saying open, gates opening will determine how long we get, dark at 4pm so assume list won't run past 3pm....road side lifts...scope for a wee hike, but heather hoppers best this early on

Went up for a wee slide as soon as the gates opened on the Braemar side. I only skied on Butcharts access as Claybokie did not appeal. The towlines were complete and the run complete but only on the right side. The snow quality was stunning, as one of the first on the slope I got the Canadian-style corduroy snow. Skiing is very limited right now but they were working away on Sunnyside and Slalom. Ski Patrol told me Butcharts corrie is full of Pow but my ski selection was not up to a recce over there if that was the case. I was given the impression that GS gear-up will be dependent on interest levels (ticket sales) but it was getting moderately busy when I was leaving.
I will post a report later though it's difficult to characterise what's there other than the snow quality being really good, exceptional.

Not snow related but good news for anyone interested; it looks as though the new chairlift is on track for approval later this week!

Headed up for an hour late afternoon, looked Bluebird early on but had tasks to do. Posted a report and a few pic's, only Sunnyside up [!] and running but quite decent skiing albeit early-season stuff. No more of the pisted pow ala Canada I am afraid, Sundays roast generated a firm base which was though, good skiable stuff.
More snow forecast after the next front.... faith.

Just had a letter from the National Park Authority and they are recommending approval at the next meeting. Of course that doesn't mean it will be approved, but it is looking good for approval.

Had a run up and ski today, posted a report. Sunnyside to be avoided however Butcharts access and corrie had some good sliding. Still early season so don't take any shiny-new-skis... my everyday's have had some serious base degradation over my three trips up. Weather was kind, we just need a good top-up of snow.
Best to all - Bob
