GlenIsla could now be an option for those coming from further south, although observations so far have only been from a distance; it's very white up there this morning. Anyone actually been into the forest yet? Hope to get up there before long.

There was a little more snow overnight at Clashindarroch but still not enough to stop the stones coming through. The accumulated fresh snow from Sunday through to today amounts to 4-5cm. Main trails still have bare stony stretches. There are some good bits on the Haute Route, especially La Glace de Clash (between the mobile phone mast and the top of Short Cut) -- see photo. The Timberline snowfield continues to be complete, much of it being icy, but with the wind behind you on flat terrain this adds an element of variety. The top half of (Clashindarroch's) Snowgoose is icy, the lower half covered in windblown powder.

Due to Wednesday's thaw, the trails lost the thin cover of fresh snow from Sunday and Monday, so there are long bare stretches, with the only surviving snow being residual patches from a couple of weeks ago (e.g. 150m. on La Glace de Clash, and a couple of 100m. stretches on the highest part of the Haute Route). Snowgoose and the Timberline snowfield have pretty much withstood the thaw. By 9am Thursday the cold air had returned, so if anyone knows whether it snowed there after that time, reports will be welcome.

As of 2pm Saturday there was no new snow at the Clash, and the trails have only the residual snow patches as per Thursday. Snowgoose is still complete, but the Timberline snowfield has broken into two parts with a short break between.

Despite all the snow further west, only a couple of snow showers reached Clashindarroch overnight giving a dusting which has all but disappeared again. As of midday, the trails remained bare apart from the usual surviving snow patches.

Followers of this thread will not be surprised to hear that there continues to be effectively no snow on the trails, unless one counts the 40 metres of skiable snow at La Glace de Clash (see photo). Off-trail, there is still 100m-plus on Clashindarroch's Snowgoose slope, which incidentally was graced by a shower of sleet at lunchtime. Snowgoose and other smaller patches surviving at the Timberline area were still sufficiently well-compacted today to make for comfortable walking. The cause of the rather disappointing season, of course, has been the continuous run of westerlies which blessed the western ski centres but left the Clash in a rain- shadow situation. Although the number of skiing days at Clashindarroch hasn't, so far, reached the annual average, it's still been several times better than the previous winter's handful of days, and some lucky skiers will savour the memory of an occasional rare day of almost Scandinavian conditions this winter. Maintaining a positive note, and looking at the records for the second half of March and the first half of April, there have been skiable days on the trails in 5 of the past 11 seasons. We can but hope!

There is 2-6cm of snow on the trails with occasional short bare/very thin stretches. The best skiing is, as always, on the Haute Route where there is up to 10cm depth in parts. Conditions are marginal but I had a reasonable ski. If you go skiing don't take good skis, definitely a day for rockhoppers.

A vehicle has driven along the main drag as far as Telemark Twist.

There were frequent snow showers while I was skiing but whether they are heavy & frequent enough to give more significant accumulation is hard to say.

I doubt this will come as a surprise but the snow has now disappeared off the Clash trails.
