Passed by this on many occasions. From the M74 it looks rubbish but on closer inspection turned out to be surprisingly good. Thanks to George Sewell who suggested a quest to this often forgotten part of Scotland. We had a nice tour out along the ridges.

I should have listened to my dad who worked on Daer Reservoir and adjoining electric power stations in the 1950's and early 1960's. "You will never find a colder place in whole of Scotland than the Leadhills."
