Do you have to book a pitch, even though it's free, or just turn up? What if it's late at night as well - is that a problem?

I agree with the thoughts about the Car Park cafe at Glencoe. I always like to rest my legs for an bit and head down on the chair for a bite of lunch.

It's funny to compare the relaxed lunchtimes of late to those when you could ski/board to the car park when the place was manic!

Mountainaddict, if it's before 8.30pm check in at the cafe. If it's after that just find a pitch.

Cheers igloo! We had a great weekend, with a day each at Nevis and Glencoe and one night at your free camping.

Only negatives were the inconsiderate folk who seem to think it's perfectly acceptable to play loud music until the early hours when others who are knackered after a great day on the hill are trying to sleep; and waking to find that someone had stolen half of our tent pegs, which was an annoying first for us.
