As a matter of interest, if the funicular was running would there be any skiing still in the Ptarmigan area?

Use the other Cairngorm thread for that question, otherwise this derails as well!

Re skiing in the Ptarmigan Bowl: The answer is yes! Pretty decent cover in fact.

Mrs MA & I were up there on touring kit two days ago. My report & some pics can be found here on Snowheads:

1. 'Cos my phone photos are always rejected by this website as being too big to post - and I'm too It-inept (ie clueless) to reduce the resolution/resolve the issue.
2. 'Cos I hadn't got round to emailing my photos directly to Winterhighland - which I've done on a fair few previous occasions - as other/better things to do...(My indirect approach is surely better than nowt??)

Still plenty of snow to have fun on Cairngorm, unfortunately you do have to walk.
Went for a slide today. Report and pictures here

For those that were asking, it appears you do need an account to see face book pages. There are ways to get around it but they are complicated. If you object to facebook the easiest way to see the pictures to make an anonymous account (fictitious name etc) and make your setting to only allow you to view your page/profile. My page is set to allow anyone to see and you do not need to friend or follow. Is it worth the hassle, probably not for just my posts but you will then get access to Inverness Back Country, Les, Helen and many others that used to post here and even Winterhighland! Loads of pictures and reports. As mountainaddict said it is much easier to post pictures on facebook and I can control the comments made by people so it is suitable for my mother to read!
