So the Beeb is all over this on GMS this morning.

From the way they're approaching it, they must be working for Glencoe too winking smiley

Really interesting article and about time the media caught on to what is happening to our country's once top ski centre. This was the top story on the news this morning, so hopefully some needed national publicity!

They missed the bit about actively removing infrastructure instead of investing in it - at a further cost to the tax payer.

The justification for this was on the grounds of health and safety regarding an unused lift - whilst the maintenance on the active lifts wasn't being carried out and checked leading to an actual HSE investigation.

A picture of the towers and chairs lying in the car park would have said 1000 words and kind of summarises NRL/NAILS tenure.

Anyhoo - bitching about it wont bring those particular chairs back - onwards and upwards with CML V3 - and i hope some community involvement/governance will re-energise and re-invigorate Cairngorm Mountain and i'll once again be back to stay in Aviemore, do a bit of skiing and spend loadsa money in the area.

Someone eventually needs to write a book about the Funicular debacle.

I'm currently reading a much happier story; 'Struan' the story of Karl and Eileen Fuchs who set up the Austrian Ski School at Struan House Carrbridge.

It’s a great story, Struan sounded like the place to stay during the 50s, 60s and 70s. All parties, interesting people and huge enthusiasm for skiing as it grew during the 60s and 70s. Sadly Struan is currently derelict……rather like the Funicular.

I'll have to track that book down.
That is where I learnt to ski in the 1970's
I was still at school and we used to go to Carrbridge and on to Cairngorm by coach 6 Saturdays every winter so I missed out on the parties.

It's some reflection on the BBC in general that when they do a good bit of investigative work like this I'm surprised. Good read.

BBC report reads as if it has been plagiarised from the nutters that posted on here a while back. NAIL never took a penny out of Cairngorm but ploughed £100k's in. BBC are toying with libel in their report as is Winterhighland.

Ah yes libel that thing that definitely exists in Scots law and doesn't at all expose people who say it as eejits.

JollyDee is back again!....

...The (suspected) mouthpiece of David Gorton..who the BBC did not mention!!

Who is David Gorton????

The first set of full (1yr) accounts for CGML under NAIL is the year ending 31/03/2015:-
Section 17 “Control”
“On the 11th June 2014 the entire share capital was purchased by NAIL” – “The ultimate controlling party is considered to be Mr. D. Gorton”.

For the accounts year ending 31/03/2014 NAIL:-
Section 16 “Related party relationships & transactions” .
GROUP
“Interest amounting to £2,801,864 was payable to D.Gorton, the ultimate controlling party of the group”.
“Long term creditors including loans amounting to £40,590,861 (yes £40million) owing to D.Gorton at various interest rates with an indeterminate repayment date”.

& that's just the start of it...Mr. David Gorton is a Hedge fund manager....you know those money magicians...

Some interesting reading in here: [www.hie.co.uk]

Point 37 says that HIE must reinstate the land if the funicular does not run for 12 months. That gives them to October 2019 to get it running again.

Point 38 says that HIE must pay the EU their £2.6m back if the funicular ceases to operate.
