We’ve previously stayed on the campsite in Glenmore for late season ski-ing but just had a look at their prices for next weekend. We’d wondered why there seems to be a lack of tents when we’ve driven past in the last year or two; now we know. £27.60 per night for 2 persons + tent is not cheap; in fact £82.80 for the 3 (can't book for less) nights is taking the p***.


Anyway, as we are always comparing Ski resort prices .... here’s the tariff for Camping Du Glacier D’Argentiere, Chamonix.

Exemple de prix: 2 adultes+ 1 petite tente/voiture pour 3 nuits
= ( 5,40 x 2)+ 4,70+ (0,20 x 2) = 15,90€/ nuit
x 3 nuits = 47,70€

Maybe you should come to Glencoe instead, camping would cost you just £12 per night.

We usually camp at Newtonmore - pleasant, quiet site & about £14, if I recall correctly.

Thanks, in the end we decided not to camp but spend just one night in Aviemore YHA so we could dash up and grab one last ski day on the B/H Monday.
As it happens, it was a good thing we didn't plan for Glencoe as the ski-ing fizzled out a day or two before. I did have a look at the Glencoe Website anyway re. camping - I hadn't even realised that there was a site there, so thanks for that.I had assumed you were talking about Red Squirrel at first. Look forward to staying at the new campsite sometime.

We had a look at the Glencoe Mtn campsite in February. Fantastic location BUT, even with the site totally empty, there was not a single remotely- level pitch to be found. Every square foot was totally undulating, to a laughable extent. Unless it's since been levelled, it would be akin to spending a night on big cobbles. Not recommended....
