Re: As I always say..
This British boy and his family have just emigrated to the USA during the summer. Prior to starting school to make sure he fits in, his mother explained that she was now 'mom' not mum, and that a full-stop was now a period!
So a few days later the holidays were over and the boy started in his new school. The teacher said they were all going to write up one word on the blackboard which was significant in terms of their summer holidays. As the new pupil in the class, the teacher asks the British boy to go first. Keen to show-off what he learned about full stop vs period, he goes up and draws a neat little circle on the blackboard....
...The Teacher asks what's that. "It's a period miss". "Yes, I know that" says the teacher "but what's significant about it?"....
..."well" said the boy, "last night my sister run down the stairs and said she was missing one..... Mom fainted and dad had a heartattack.... I would say it's fairly significant!"
