The black run off Glas Maol looks interesting at the moment.

Cracking Vid!

anyone know if Glas Maol will be back on for the weekend? Having a Coe/Shee debate and whether it runs will likely make us decide either way.

Thanks for that awrightski, if you have looked at the weird thumbnail we can't change it no matter what, however we are trying to resolve it.

Crazy huge drifts up there today, just no visibility, anyone heading up tomorrow will be in for a spectacular one if the clear forecast comes off and the temps don't go too far up.

Everything open is amazing on and off piste, but today was full on jedi skills and repeatedly head over heels buried in big deep pow drifts smiling smiley

Excellent day as expected, snow great all over.
Most impressed the way the 21 lifts and so many open
runs made for very little queues - most I saw was
2 lines at Glas Maol which goes pretty quick.
For a place with full car parks it didn’t feel busy.

Car parks were full by 1100, all the way up to the transmitter & snow gates.
ticket office, rentals and cafes crawling with folk so a profitable day indeed for the ski company.
We'd headed out west, easy touring towards Carn nan Sac as Laura is on brand new boots. A wee bit wind affected out that way but the fullest cover I've seen in along time for Nordic tours as well as alpine, pretty much ski anywhere and to any summits. cover on the back of Cairnwell is excellent but not quite enough to ski all the way to the road, as we did a couple of weeks back. Leacach/Hesitation is looking superb for the next sunny, stable day.

Glenshee. Great today. A few observations since I was last here 3 years ago.

A world of skiing available today.
Great value for £30 I thought.
Loads of snow. .....ignore the webcam.
Glas Maol superb next to the tow.
Really noticeable how well Glenshee have got all their Pomas running. Caenlochan seems to have had a complete overall. One or two additional pylons ? And about 5 others renewed. Running really well.
Superb pisting everywhere.
Food good in the cafes I thought and good customer care in the Tea @ the Shee.
New Cairnwell chair is a game changer. They’ve made it really easy to load and unload and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a chairlift so close to a car park.
If the 4 man chair goes in there will never be a need to queue again !

Just need to persuade more people to do themselves a favour and get up here.

Skied Corrie Loch Kander couloir today. superb and a quite a challenging skin back up. Shame the snow hasn’t yet quite developed into spring snow off piste yet. Really sticky today.

Ps. The Bistro Breamar is a great place to eat. The Cairngorm Trade Winds beer is quite superb.

Can you tell I’m in a happy place tonight smiling smiley

After Saturday at Glencoe we drove over to Blairgowrie in the evening chasing some good weather. We were not disappointed. Wall to wall sunshine at Glenshee in the morning morning with just a few clouds scudding in before we left for the long drive home around 2pm. Huge grooming effort made and cover still great between fences. Hard rutted snow first thing literally changed by the minute as the sun did its work. An absolutely fabulous, alpine like day. Glas Mail black closed due to avalanch risk and bowl really icy and hard, but still fun! I don't know where to stop with description, but suffice to say that by the time we got to Tiger at around noon it was epic. Sugary spring snow and we had it virtually
to ourselves for 3 laps. Off piste other side of lift excellent too, with a bit of hopping at the bottom.

Not sure how much longer it will last to this quality, with car park only 3/4 full we were asking ourselves where everyone was?

Thanks to all the team there for a great day.
