+1 re the Maol, and did they get Corrie Fionn open Monday as they had hoped?

Not sure yet whether to tour tomorrow or get a ticket. The classic tour on the 4 Munro's east could be grand with all the new snow.

Up today, check my report. No Fionn today and doubt Maol will be a goer soon.
The top will need a lot of de-icing and moving snow off the uptrack.
Lovely soft stuff but a few bits of clear ice hiding as well to keep you on your toes. Sunnyside and Meall Odhar my favorites today.

Is there still fresh powder to be had or is it all tracked out now?

Mostly tracked out, at least the easily accessible stuff.
There will be some stashes left on west facing slopes but
they’re at the mercy of the March sun now. Tomorrow should be good tho

Some impressive tracks off the end of the ridge that curves
back up to Maol up to the right from the road as you head
down to Braemar today. Doubt they bought a liftpass though!

Up at the shee now. Beware a couple of icy sections on road. Frozen snow melt run off. On the rise after the flat straight about 2 miles before Glen Isla turn off and a few bits in the valley after as well. Slide is fine.

EE mobile tower down btw. Had to set up 2 way sat internet. First world problems and all that!

Just had a look at it, it looks great, good for powder and should handle ice with ease, Would be excited to know flugeryl how it performs in freshies and mixed conditions.

well Kammy...it floats like a dream in the soft powder (Sunday was awesome of Meal Odhar)

less edge grab too with the camber....shame I have missed Mon/Tue bluesky days but may squeeze 1/2 on wed before the wind picks up again.

Be Nice to Skiers, they have it hard enough already

perhaps the best snow I've ever experienced in Scotland. Mostly Alpine snow all day long!

Took the White Dots out in the morning and just did laps in the off piste bowl off around Meall Odhar, all cut up but still some soft bits and the occasional chance for a few turns in untouched snow.

Early lunch at 11:30 and swopped onto my piste skis and headed up the other side, didn't ski long over there tbh. Shame Tigerwas shut. Did a lap of every open piste then headed back for a few more runs Sunnyside and all the open lifts.

Was getting a bit samey by 2pm so stopped for a coffee @ Meall Odhar and noticed the queue was a lot bigger, headed up to find Coire Fionn was now open. did a really icy traverse as high as possible, crossing the Glas Maol poma and found perfect fresh snow!! Did this 4 times, this pic taken about 15:50 and still loads of lines available!

A few others had the same idea!

They had pisted the Glas Maol poma track and also the immediate run down beside it with lots of activity so I'd guess this would open tomorrow??

Yep, superb day today, well worth the day off work. Got a few drone 360's and shoved em on google maps so you working folks can see what you missed ;-)

Skinned up Maol end of play, almost missing the last Fionn lift in the process. Nice run down indeed.

Thanks for the feedback of your new board, nice to hear you had a good time enjoying freshies at Glenshee, shame I couldn't get up, hoping the conditions stay the same in the middle of next week.

Great 360's Nigel. Were they all taken yesterday? Last couple show Glas Maol poma running, unless I've really lost my bearings ? I thought it was still out of action
