Good day on Friday, lots of runs open and wind was blowing fresh snow over runs as day went on. Carn Aosda and Butcharts were great, and had a shot up the Cairnwell chair.

Encountered a couple of people grumbling that it wasn't great (there was the odd patch of ice) but I really enjoyed myself.

:: Weather Conditions
Sunny most of the day with a few clouds, clouding over more later afternoon with a wee hint of snow. Very cold with temperatures reaching -10 in Glen Isla and -6 when arriving at 07: 50 in the morning.
:: Snow Conditions & Info
All Cairnwell lifts and Sunnyside lifts open but piste bashers working on Caenlochan and Glas Maol, they are complete but there's not enough snow on Cluny or Tom Dearg sadly. Was extremely busy with all carparks full so some people were parked on the road. C?rn Aosda is in good shape and had nice off piste down the flank but had the biggest queue. Tiger was seeing a lot of action despite being icy and chopped up in places. All lifts had fairly long queues. Great Sliding available on all slopes

Was really good today, bit variable off pistes but the runs were pretty decent. Big queues though.

GS crack me up with their Facebook post about closed car parks though. "unexpectedly busy" unexpected by who exactly!! 😂

Full car parks at 3 out of 5 resorts today then!?

On balance glad I didn't bother but happy for the resorts to get what I'm sure is a much needed cash injection - Glenshee especially after last year.

Stupidly busy at times today, but I expected this. Got some decent skiing in despite nursing a sprained foot. For my money Carn Aosda piste was the best, did not venture off piste due to said foot!

Nice to see the shee operational again after last year's rubbish season.

Someone on lift said Eddie the eagles presence and subsequent TV time encouraged extra folks onto the hill.

Worth mentioning how well organised the queues were too actually. Seemed way less chaotic than a usually mad weekend, full marks to staff and patrollers for mostly keeping it running smoothly.

Aye, Bill was in fine form explaining the queueing system to folks who just didn't want to understand!

Had the usual chat with him about what he's been up to - says he was in Antarctica working the previous week. Canna remember how old he said he was 2 years ago, but I'm sure he said 75 - doesn't look it.

Yeah, was up today and got a real scare.
Not a great forecast this week regards snow in the east.
Lets hope the season improves for the shee.

That's a real shame, Glenshee has really taken a beating from the current mild weather, Haven't had the opportunity to go Glenshee, but hopefully the forecast will turn better soon with a big dump of snow.

Also was shocked, it's highly unlikely that they will make the weekend.

The Shee needs a good season as they haven't had one in a while
