It might avoid the wind, looks like it might be a pretty slack airflow in the middle of a big low pressure but particularly with the very early start time it looks like much of the Southern side of Loch Ness portion of the route will be above the freezing level- indeed some data suggests it might be sub-zero in Inverness at the start! Somewhere could get quite a bit of snow at the weekend as well.
