Will they then share the equipment around the other centres next year?

“While the uplift review isn’t intended to resolve the current issues, it will be instrumental in steering future investment at Cairngorm and creating a world-class year-round attraction. We look forward to sharing the findings of this comprehensive study, carried out by independent global experts.”

Can't wait for this...

Is a Lecht/Glenshee/Nevis Range/Glencoe able to object to this investment. It's a real unfair advantage if you get a goverment injection while the rest doesn't. Just imagine what the other resorts could do with this amount of free/extra snow making equipment.

Isn't this a textbook example of unfair competition/non level playing field?

Surely time for an independent investigation into the doings of HIE and its links with Cairngorm. It's not a level playing field between the 5 ski areas in respect of past investment and now future investment in comparison with Cairngorm, and this can't go on so blatantly. Time to rattle the MSP's cages in the respective ski areas over this, and start lobbying the first minister. Surely MSM should be covering this more.

Considering the size of £1million of snow factories have they put in a planning application etc??..what about water draw off from streams (environmental report)…& do the electric board know about the extra power load?..I presume these are electric & not diesel powered..other wise more noise pollution?

talk about throwing good money after bad...

PS BBC has a new article on it & as per usual they have got their facts wrong!!...so I emailed them

they state:-

The options currently left to snowsports enthusiasts to reach the slopes from the bottom are three tows - the day lodge, car park T-bar and the Fiacaill Ridge tow.

Really??...that just gets you to mid station level approx...only two ways up to top ...M1 & West Wall pomas...experts only...

James McIntosh at thye Lecht said his single snow factory cost half a million. So HIE may be buying two?

He who pays the piper and all that... we shall see, but I believe the consultants finished their work a while ago, are HIE redrafting?

Dave, I don't think the BBC are saying here that these are the only tows that will operate over the season. I think the intent of that sentance is to state the only uplift from the car park level. I highly doubt NR are that stupid to not run the Corrie case T-bar, and the M1 poma. Then again...

I had thought that, but its trying to compare to running with the funicular, ...so like for like...

is as you say then they are totally ignoring the upper bowl & the midstaion etc runs eg M1 poma,.etc..
